QIB Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop as Part of Pink October Initiatives

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading digital bank, hosted a breast cancer awareness workshop for its women employees at its Head Office, in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), as part of its Pink October initiatives to mark the Awareness Month. The workshop formed part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, reflecting its continued commitment to raising health awareness and promoting the well-being of its employees and the wider community.

The workshop focused on the importance of early detection and regular screening, providing participants with valuable information on breast cancer awareness and preventive health practices. The session also reinforced the importance of adopting proactive approaches to health and encouraged employees to prioritize their well-being.

In addition to the workshop, QIB organized a series of awareness activities throughout October to engage employees and reinforce the Pink October message across the Bank. As part of these activities, the Bank also organized a special gathering for its women employees in an atmosphere that encouraged engagement and solidarity in support of breast cancer awareness. Pink floral arrangements were displayed at QIB Towers throughout the month, while pink ribbons, bracelets, and stress balls were distributed to employees to encourage awareness and solidarity. Specially designed pink cups carrying a breast cancer awareness message were also distributed across QIB offices and branches, bringing the message into employees’ daily routines.

Extending its awareness efforts beyond the workplace, QIB displayed dedicated awareness visuals developed in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society across selected ATMs at its ladies’ branches. The Bank also shared a series of engaging and informative content across its social media platforms throughout October to reach a wider audience and reinforce the importance of breast cancer awareness and regular screening.

Commenting on the initiative, Mashaal Abdulaziz Al-Derham, Assistant General Manager, Head of Corporate Communications & Quality Assurance at QIB, said: “At QIB, we believe that raising awareness and encouraging proactive health practices are important steps towards building healthier communities. Our collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society in organizing this workshop provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with our employees and highlight the importance of early detection. Together with our other Pink October activities, these efforts reflect our commitment to promoting health awareness and contributing to the well-being of our employees, customers, and the wider community.”

QIB’s Pink October initiatives reflect the Bank’s broader CSR commitment to supporting health awareness and community well-being. Through ongoing collaborations and employee engagement activities, QIB continues to contribute to national efforts that promote public health and encourage a culture of awareness and prevention.
