QIB Sponsors Quran Recitation School Contest

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education held a ceremony to honor the winners of the Quran Recitation Contest at Jassim Bin Hamad Hall. The competition was organized by Ahmed Bin Mohamed Secondary School for Boys and sponsored by QIB. It saw 384 participants from 121 boys and girls schools.

 Ms. Fawzia Al-Khater, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, honored the winning students and expressed her happiness and gratitude towards them.

Mr. Hassan Sultan Al-Noaimi, QIB’s Assistant General Manager, Personal Banking Group, said “QIB’s sponsorship of the Quran recitation contest, in which all Qatari schools from various educational stages participated, is part of QIB’s mission and role as a leading national Islamic financial institution working to promote Islamic values and encourage students to learn and recite the Holy Quran".

Mr. Hassan added: “QIB’s sponsorship of the contest and its general support for educational activities are part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which is in line with the social objectives of Qatar’s 2030 Vision. The sponsorship supports Islamic values and contributes to building a promising generation faithful to its religion and proud of the values of its country, Qatar, and the Islamic nation.”

He continued: “We are pleased with the large participation in this contest, and we stress our eagerness to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on such targeted educational programs for the sake of the coming generations.”

Since its establishment in 1982, QIB has been supporting various social activities in the sectors of education, health, sport, environment, and others within its corporate social responsibility programs. The Bank views this as an integral part of its mission and role in the community.
