QIB Celebrates National Sports Day with Full Day of Sports Activities

QIB Celebrates National Sports Day with Full Day of Sports Activities

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading Islamic Bank, celebrated Qatar National Sports Day by hosting a range of diverse activities for the Bank’s employees and their families. The event focused on showcasing the fun and rewarding benefits of sports to promote the idea that physical activities can be exciting. The event was attended by members of the Bank’s executive management team who shared in the activities and excitement of the national holiday.

The Bank partnered with Jade Center to offer a wide variety of fitness activities and games, suitable for a variety of ages for all members of the family. The activities were tailored to assess the physical abilities of individuals of different ages. Present at the event were health and nutrition specialists, who were able to give attendees advice and answer specific questions about how to effectively make physical activity a daily part of one’s schedule and embark on a healthier lifestyle.

Pleased with the turnout of the event, Bassel Gamal, QIB Group’s CEO, said, “It make us happy to see so many people engaging with the health specialists and participating in the sports activities. Qatar’s National Sports Day holds a very positive message and goal for the people of Qatar to be more conscious of their physical and mental wellbeing, and we are proud to be involved in spreading this message each year.”

During the past week, QIB has communicated several healthy tips to customers and employees to support the culture of sport and health among all the people in Qatar and especially to the ones who spent hours during work on their desks to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Qatar National Sports Day became an official holiday starting in February 2012 following an Emiri Decree. Its goal is to encourage healthier lifestyles and raise awareness on the importance of sports and physical activity and their rewarding effects on both the body and the mind.
