13/06/2017, Doha, Qatar

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) opened a new office at QIB’s headquarters in Grand Hamad street, to offer real estate registration and authentication services to the banking sector.

Mr. Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs at the MOJ, inaugurated the new office in the presence of Mr. Khamis Jassim Al Markhi, head of Real Estate Registration along with, Mr. D. Anand, QIB’s, General Manager – Personal Banking Group, and the Bank’s senior management members. He stated that the inauguration of the office is part of MOJ’s vision and strategy to expand its offices and branches as per Qatar’s wise leadership’s instructions to ensure that services are close to the people, giving them easy access to these solutions. This includes services provided by government institutions directly linked to public services offered by Banks and large companies that deal with the MOJ in fields of real estate and mortgage, as well as other services that the MOJ is ensuring will be easily accessible to institutions, citizens and residents.

Al Suwaidi noted that the opening of the office coincided with the launch of the third phase of the Real Estate Registration and Authentication System, known as “SAK”. The electronic system includes sales and mortgage transactions that are directly linked with banking services. The office will therefore serve as a convenient platform to provide all Bank customers those services under one roof. Al Suwaidi thanked QIB for its cooperation and support in providing the space, pointing out that the office was selected for its convenient location in the middle of the Grand Hamad street (Banks street).

He explained that as the first step, the representatives at the new office will register all visitors in “SAK”, as all real estate registration and authentication services are now offered through this system that is integrated with all Banks and other service providers. After their registration to the SAK system, bank customers will be able to receive full real estate authentication and registration services.

He noted that the opening of the office coincides with MOJ’s relocation to its new headquarters at the Gulf Tower and the transfer of all real estate registration and authentication services to external officers and branches. He said an office was also opened at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, near gate no. 4, to provide registration and authentication services to the public and guide people on relevant procedures. People can visit this office directly or call no. 40216463.

Al-Suwaidi said the MOJ dedicates all its facilities to serve the public and welcomes every enquiry or complaint about its services. It set up an operations room at the real estate registration department to answer all relevant questions. People can call 40216105, reach the Ministry on its around-the-clock hotline 137, or visit MOJ social media pages.

For his part, Mr. D. Anand, General Manager – Personal Banking Group at QIB, praised the opening of the MOJ office at the QIB’s headquarters, saying the office will facilitate real estate registration and authentication procedures for clients of QIB and other Banks. He said the services offered at the new Ministry of Justice office would help in reducing time and efforts as it facilitates the Banks’ real estate related transactions.

“QIB trusts that the opening of this office will add to the quality services the Bank is offering to its customers and all related partners, as it will save much time and effort for those involved in real estate registration and documentation business, which are growing amid the booming real estate market and the economic development in general,” he said. “Additionally, as Mr. Al Swaidi mentioned, it will offer Bank clients a comprehensive service platform.”

QIB thanked the Ministry of Justice for its confidence in the Bank and its cooperation that led to the opening of the office, stressing that it will provide the necessary support to ensure the office will serve as a model in offering successful services and realising its objectives.
