Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) – Qatar’s Leading Islamic Bank – is hosting a career day on Tuesday 17th of June – 8:00 AM at Al Huda Tower – West Bay – in association with the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs. The careers day is one of a series of similar events being staged by the Ministry with Qatar’s leading companies.
During the career day, the Bank is planning to present its vision and future plans to provide a clear insight to the job seekers about career opportunities within QIB.
“QIB’s objective is very clear, we are focusing our efforts on attracting and developing Qatari Talents” said Mr. Khalefa Al Mesalam, Acting General Manager – Human Capital Group. “As part of QIB’s strong support for Qatar Vision 2030, we are working to increase our level of Qatarisation within the Bank, hiring as many capable and talented local nationals as we can. We believe that QIB is one of the best choices for individuals that would like to build a career in financial services in Qatar and by holding such career days, everyone gets the chance to find out all about this fascinating career option,” he concluded.
It’s worth mentioning that last year, QIB achieved 29% Qatarization as of year-end and continues to invest in developing National resources. As per QIB’s strategic nationalization plan, the Bank is expected to increase the Qatarization percentage by this year end.
As part of QIB’s commitment to invest in people, the Bank has also sponsored 28 Qatari students who will become part of the Bank’s workforce upon successful completion of their education. QIB also improved the Learning & Development capability throughout the organization and enhanced skill sets across the Bank. In 2013, hundreds of learning hours were delivered to participants across various functions in the Bank. The Learning & Development initiatives covered major skill requirements in areas such as Islamic Banking knowledge, Corporate Banking and Relationship Management, Customer Service, Product knowledge, and Branch Management Programmes.
