If your card gets stuck in an ATM, don’t worry – QIB has you covered. Whether the machine belongs to QIB or another bank, there are simple steps you can follow to keep your card and account secure.

What should you do if the ATM belongs to QIB?

  1. Stay calm and do not leave immediately.
  2. Wait a few moments to see if the machine automatically returns your card.
  3. If the card remains stuck, take note of the ATM location, date, and time. Contact QIB immediately through:
    • The QIB Contact Centre on 4444 8444, available 24x7
    • By visiting the nearest QIB branch to report the issue

What should you do if the ATM belongs to other banks?

If your card gets stuck in another bank’s ATM:

  1. Note the bank name, ATM location, date, and time.
  2. Call QIB Contact Centre on 4444 8444 to report the incident.
  3. QIB will block your card immediately to protect your account and issue a replacement card, which you can activate digitally through the QIB Mobile App and start using right away via your digital wallet.

Tip for added security

Whenever you face an issue with your card, you can always temporarily block it through the QIB Mobile App under Manage CardDeactivate, ensuring that no one else can use it. At QIB, your safety and peace of mind come first, no matter where you bank.

Possible reasons your card can get stuck in the ATM:

  • You enter the wrong PIN three times
  • You take too long to retrieve your card from the ATM after your transaction
  • The card is blocked
  • The ATM may not be working

What happens next?

The card will be retrieved by the vendor servicing the machine and sent back to the bank operating the ATM.

If it’s not a QIB ATM, the operating bank will send the card to us. You can call us to have the card replaced.
